Safety First! Construction Site Safety

For all VPR staff at, or coming to, 365 Troy Avenue please take note that as of this posting the construction areas around the building are no longer generally accessible. Construction creates potentially dangerous areas and caution must be exercised, so anybody that is in the construction area must at a minimum be wearing a hard hat and closed-toe shoes (not sandals!). It is preferred that no staff or guests be inside the active construction areas without construction crew accompaniment. We will work with our site manager Pete Nelson to set up a weekly tour time for the construction area so that staff who want to see the progression of construction can do so with him and at a time when the construction crew is prepared for visitors to be in the area. If a VPR staff person needs access to the construction site areas around the building for business purposes, please reach out to Brian Donahue, Laurie Kigonya, or Joe Tymecki to help determine the next safest time(s) for access.

Parking Update

As of Monday June 22nd, there will no longer be any staff or guest parking on either side of the 365 Troy Avenue building. The only parking available to staff and guests will be at the front of the building or in the lot on the front lawn. This makes it even MORE important to be mindful of parking to allow for enough cars to fit. Please make an effort to park consistently, leaving as much room as possible for others to enter and exist comfortably.

Potential noise implications:

• The plate compaction can be noisy and generate vibrations. A few months ago they tested plate compaction next to the Talk Studio and it was noisy, but no on-air impact was identified. We’ll coordinate and assess the impact and adjust accordingly. 
• Excavation work for foundation with have noise from machinery, but this has not created on-air issues to-date. 
• Foundation work will involve laying rebar and setting forms. This will be noisy and we’ll coordinate with Pete, assess, and adjust if there is impact.
