Here are today's scrum notes:

Stuff that's changed:
  • interim (till Fall): vending machines and mailboxes will be in Green Room
  • Corporate Support is working on a trade for new dishware! It'll cost extra to have lipstick stains applied to the coffee mugs
  • copy toner recycling! Look for receptacles next to each copier
  • interim (till Fall): postage machine will be at the bottom of the mezzanine stairs, on the right
  • interior glass doors are being installed in LMA rooms, etc. feedback welcome! punchlist@vpr.net
  • additional water coolers are coming - one upstairs, one in the newsroom
  • movers will be here on April 4 to move stuff from the Loft over to 365, and move music and news archive CD cabinets, and move books
  • movers will be here again on April 14 to move filing cabinets from Development Services, Administration, and Major Giving

"Punch list" of stuff we're working on:
  • recycling and trash bins are ordered for copy machines
  • glass partitions between desks - are they hazardous if someone bumps into them? we're checking with other businesses that use this furniture
  • reviewing and ordering mats for standing desks
  • installing pull-out drawers in deep cabinets so things don't get lost in the back
  • getting free-standing shelves for audio engineers' offices
  • removing the whiteboards behind Alex's desk and intern's desk - these will be stored for 6-month interim period; this will happen a few weeks from now
  • monitor arms are coming for those desks that didn't have them; 2-3 weeks out

Stuff that stays the same for now:
  • hard hat area is lobby, cafe, and Studio One - all behind glass doors
  • temporary construction doors at end of long hallway can remain unlocked
  • parking
  • bathrooms
  • entrances, keys/codes
  • mailboxes
  • kitchen
  • deliveries

Staff Q &A:

When will new meeting rooms be in Zimbra?
As rooms are finished and ready for use, they will be added to Zimbra. They will have temporary names!

I have a few free-standing shelves that I've emptied. What do I do with them?
Leave them behind at your desk, we'll sort out later where to donate or re-purpose leftover furniture.

It's cold in the new newsroom!
The construction guys noticed that the thermostat is right next to a copy machine, which might trick the thermostat into thinking the room is warm. Laurie will follow up with construction guys and find a solution.

When do the noise-cancelling headphones get here?
They've been shipped! Enough headsets were ordered for those who requested them. They are Bose noise cancelling headphones, which we purchased at a discount. ("Noise cancelling" = we'll see if they help.)

Standing mats - when, how?
We have 5 fancy mats and people are trying them out. We're still working on long-term plan for ordering mats. In the meantime, move your mat with you if you have one at your old desk.

  1. Can we move a box or desk item to our new space prior to our scheduled move date?

  2. Are we allowed to put something like this on the partition by our desks to hang a sweater or bag? http://www.staples.com/Command-Jumbo-Hook-Quartz/product_574314?cid=PS:GooglePLAs:574314&ci_src=17588969&ci_sku=574314&KPID=574314&lsft=cid:PS-_-GooglePLAs-_-574314,kpid:574314,adtype:pla_multichannel,channel:online&gclid=CjwKEAjww9O3BRDp1tq0jIP023YSJAB0-j1SZVEAhDEtsqUJh57SwcPQUNH15hFDHB8znL0YR_lKCxoCWYrw_wcB
