Scrum Notes - April 15

Happy Friday! So much news you can use today:

New front entrance on Monday:
Use it! We're open for business. Visitors and employees should walk on in through the front lobby.
 
Parking:

Feeling nostalgic for that time months ago when the parking instructions changed, like, daily? This is the first time in a long time we'd had a parking update for you:

• Staff should use only the big yellow parking area on the north side of the building. (Now realizing that while you can use the front entrance, you'll need to walk all the way around from the parking area to do so....) 
• The handful of yellow spots near the front door should be saved for visitors, volunteers and others who do not have key fobs and therefore must be buzzed in the front door.
• The red Xs show the gravel parking lot that is going to be torn up pretty soon.

All of this will change again as demolition and construction gets hard core in the front of the old building, so look forward to that.

Free stuff! Limited time only!
Employee yard sale is happening in the Music Library. Anything left over goes in a dumpster on Monday. You can put your name on anything you want to claim, just get it out of the building this weekend. (Also, there are several hundred Keurig pods up in the old newsroom, have 'em!)

One dumpster is full, another one is filling.

Fridge: Total cleanout this weekend!
Get your dishes, condiments and leftovers out by end of today. Franny will be ruthless when she attacks the fridge this weekend. She takes no prisoners!

Stuff that’s changed:

• The front section of the old building is being emptied. Total zombieland up there.
• The hardwood floor is being finished in Studio One today - hence the never ending drone of a sander.
• Cleaners come in this weekend to prep the lobby, cafe space, and restrooms for our use on Monday.
• Plumber will be installing water bubblers (yes, that’s a word) in the mezzanine and by the sprinkler room on the lower level.

Stuff that stays the same for now:

• Nothing stays the same for now. There is no normal.
• Thanks again for being flexible!

Stuff that won’t be finished until after April 18th:

• The cafe furniture will take a bit to be delivered, assembled, and put in place. In the meantime, we’ll set up some temporary tables and seating.
• We’re still working on getting the bench in the cafe upholstered.
• Railing on the front patio still are being designed and then will need time for fabrication and installation
• Lights in skylight will be lowered and wired with black wiring - delay in getting the wiring
• Doors and glass panels for the ‘community room’ - 4 to 6 week delivery, then installation
• Kitchen sink is being replace (with a larger version)
• Custom farmhouse table and kitchen island - 4 to 6 week fabrication
• Final table tops for cafe tables - involves a photo project, still needs design
• Donor wall/Pantry door - being fabricated now, no ship date confirmed
• Doors for space next to lobby elevator
• TV/monitor for cafe
