Continuity Update for September 15

The Steinway is here! The piano is under a blanket, acclimating to it's new home in Studio One. Even the shiny pedals are wrapped in adorable felt booties.

And there are several other big developments to share:

NEW BATHROOMS
Two private staff bathrooms are now available to use! These are located on the short hallway to the left of the future staff mailboxes. You are free to wander the studio hallway up to the mail box area. (The music library is still not ready for prime time, so please don't traipse everywhere yet.)

"I appreciate these bathrooms more than I appreciate most things in my life."

~ Todd Mallory

Two things to know about these bathrooms:
  1. Showers: we are requiring you to "pack it in, pack out" when it comes to shower supplies, towels, hairdryers, etc. Please do not leave any personal items in and around the showers. Also, the shower curtains will be hung today (on Friday).
  2. The toilet seats in these two bathrooms need to be replaced, and will be soon. You can use them, but gentlemen may want to use them cautiously. (This is where I would insert a video that demonstrates how the toilet seats can spontaneously fall when placed in the "up" position, but Blogger is a terrible, terrible platform and I can't get the video to upload. I trust this paragraph will be memorable enough sans visual aid. I also suspect this toilet seat design is karmic retribution on behalf of women everywhere.)

MOVE CALENDAR
Many of you are relocating to your "forever homes" next month. So cool!!! Each department that is moving has been assigned a few days during which your team's move will happen.

Here is the schedule.  (It's a stand-alone post so you can find easily find it again when you need to refer back to it.)

SEATING CHART
We finally know where people will be sitting when they relocate! I've also created a stand-alone blog post that shows the seating chart just for those people who are moving (this does not show or label the desks of those staffers who are staying put. We'll post a complete seating chart of all staff soon.)

Here is the seating chart. (It's a stand-alone post so you can find easily find it again when you need to refer back to it.)

OTHER NEWS YOU CAN USE
  • The Pilot station for the "it's not a fund drive, people!" is being set up today in the Green Room. The sliding doors that will create an audio barrier for Master & Talk will be installed after the on air Next campaign.
  • Sticky front door -- we're on it
  • Concrete floor -- we apparently are incapable of keeping coffee in our mugs and not on the floor. The construction team is working on a new floor sealer/treatment that will keep the floor cleaner and less susceptible to stains.
  • Casual outdoor furniture is coming soon! Be sure you're not on formal behavior when using it.

Drinking fountain? Bubbler? Hydration station? Register your preference in the comments section.

A note left on the new piano. Better yet, don't move it at all. Don't even touch it. Just, don't.
