Scrum notes - March 29

Starting promptly at 1:15 and ending on time, the goal of these scrums is to quickly give out new information and to answer questions that have emerged during move-ins.

It's Week 2, ya'll!! And in honor of our steady progress, Joe Tymecki has this safety reminder: no martinis in construction areas:

Stuff that’s changed:
  • Construction noise is regular and loud in the new building. We'd rather not restrict the working hours for the construction crew (which slows their progress), but if it's intolerable we'll reassess. In the meantime, noise-cancelling headphones are on their way. If you're dying for a pair right now, see Heather or Todd.
  • Printer is being re-installed in the Green Room for Master & Talk
  • Vermont Gas was on site last week and tightened a connection feeding the generator. This should eliminate any further odors on the northwest corner of the historic building.
  • A keyless future is coming! Instead of metal keys or codes to punch into door pads, we'll all be assigned cards or fobs that will unlock doors. A few people have them already, everyone will get them closer to April 15.

Stuff that stays the same for now:
  • hard hat area is lobby, cafe, and Studio One - all behind glass doors
  • temporary construction doors at end of long hallway can remain unlocked
  • parking
  • bathrooms
  • entrances, keys/codes
  • mailboxes
  • kitchen
  • deliveries

Punch List additions:
  • Wooden stair treads are cracking - Construction team is working with the architect and construction manager on options, possibly will include replacing all the treads. (Or maybe they look weathered and cool with the cracks?)
  • Monitor arms are a bit wonky - IT is working on solutions but it will take some time to find the right fix that is also affordable.
  • First coat of paint is on the doors of Master and Talk; another coat is coming soon! (Did you notice they are black now? Tres noir.)

Staff Q &A:

Will there be phone in the LMA rooms?
It's not a top priority, but could happen eventually if desired. We're working on getting phones in place first at desks and studios.

Can the IP phones be programmed with a VPR directory, people's extensions?
We'll check with Todd. Maybe.
