Continuity Update for Oct 13

"I'm gonna build the greatest wall ever..."
Two notes about walls:

• The bits of blue painter's tape around the building are marking touch-up spots for the painter to return to. Please don't scratch that OCD itch by removing the tape.
• Please do not put holes in the walls - pins, nails, etc. If you want to hang something, use Command strips or gummy tack. And if these products aren't familiar, Laurie will explain!

Move schedule: Music is next!
On Monday, the remaining 90-degree desks will be moved out of the new building and into the Music Library and Corporate Support. And that will signal the end of Music Camp! Those good souls will move into their forever homes by the end of next week.  This is the schedule of moves
 
Construction this week:
There will be more noise, and it won't be subtle! The sliding door we've mentioned that will separate Master/Talk from the Green Room will be installed Tuesday and Wednesday. Anchoring this door will involve hammer drills going into the concrete, which doesn't sound quiet. We actually expect it might be heard or felt throughout most of the building.

They're also going to replace the display cabinet at the reception desk. (We didn't order the one that's there now, it was shipped and installed before anyone caught the mistake.)

What's in a name? 
Please keep studying the new names of rooms! We are planning to switch over all room names in Zimbra on Wednesday morning.There is a big poster in the kitchen, or refer back to this previous blog post. Vic and Ty are scheming a scavenger hunt-orientation-contest-activity to help us learn the names of the rooms.

One thing you WON'T find in Zimbra? Studio One. Only Ty has the ability to book this studio right now, so please see her with questions. As a back-up when Ty is out and you're in a pinch, you can see Heather.

Will be moving in a week or so.

Want cake?
How about Nov 4th? We're trying to find a date for the staff to celebrate the final moves and the full occupancy of the building, even while work continues on the last details around us. Raise a flag in the comments if you know a reason why the afternoon Nov of 4th might be bad timing for a shindig.
